This morning a group of Year 9 students had the chance to skype a class in Almuñécar, Granada. It was an amazing experience and students surprised me by using vocabulary they learnt in lessons and asking the students questions about their hobbies and likes and dislikes.

With a little bit of English spoken by the Spanish students and the Spanish our Year 9’s had learnt, they managed to have great conversations and they connected straight away. I was amazed by the way they discussed which football teams, players and even TV shows they liked. Our students were surprised by how similar they were; they even played the same games on the computer!

We all enjoyed the experience and it made them more confident on their own oral skills.
