Taunton School transport fleet gains top marks for safety from DVSA

Posted: 2nd June 2021

The school has become an accredited member of the DVSA’s Earned Recognition Scheme, a voluntary assessment process open to all transport providers who can demonstrate a strong track record of compliance and adherence to standards and show that they have robust systems and processes in place for effective transport management.

With a fleet of three 57-seater coaches and 11 modified, bespoke built minibuses, Taunton School has an extensive transport network for students, covering 11 different routes. All vehicles meet current carbon emission regulations and have speed limiters, fire extinguishers and first aid kits fitted as standard. The fully vetted and highly trained team of drivers are exclusive to each route.

The independent auditor said; “This was an exceptionally good audit and the first occasion where I have not listed any remedial action to be taken.”

Nicola Miller, Chief Operating Officer at Taunton School, says: “This is an important recognition for our team as it underlines our continued commitment to offering safe transport to our pupils.”
