International students at Taunton School are preparing to spend a night outside to raise money for homelessness charity, Arc.
Arc (formerly Taunton Association for the Homeless) houses, supports and empowers homeless people in Somerset. The local homeless charitable organisation supports over 450 people per year.
After meeting a representative from Arc, several students presented a talk about the plight of homelessness in the UK and across the world and the effects it can have on a person’s mental and physical wellbeing during the school’s weekly assembly.
For many of the students, this experience will be a challenge to step out of their comfort zone to learn more about the experience of people who have nowhere to sleep.
The Sleep Out is taking place on Saturday 19th June. To learn more about the charity and to contribute to the students’ fundraising goals, please visit: https://bit.ly/2Sb2r8g
